It's time for our 6th annual kimjang!!
A day for the community to get together and make kimchi with the season's harvest. Join us for a free kimchi-making-fest, with all ingredients provided!
If you'd like to attend, all you need to do is RSVP and bring your own kimchi vessel. A quart glass jar with a lid or even better - an onggi (or really any ceramic vessel) - would work just fine. We'll also have some jars and crocks at the shop if you need to buy one.
We'll be hosting this year's event nextdoor at our buds The Shop by Island Creek Oysters! Thank you for hosting us this year! It'll likely be outdoors, so make sure to bundle up! (We'll find indoors space in case of rain!)
Just a note about donations: While the kimjang event is always free for the community, we'll be collecting donations for Niweskok, an organization focused on restoring traditional Wabanaki food ways, food sovereignty, and land stewardship practices to Penobscot and other Native communities in Maine.
