On the 26th July 1986 we took to the stage at Christchurch Cockfosters, introduced by Geoff Hammer. We were called Contraband, we played a second gig at the same venue just before Christmas that year. By August 1987 we went on stage at the Dublin Castle for our first paid gig, and by that stage we were a 6 piece band called Shot in the Dark. We had dreams ambition, and an album in the bag, but after 7 years we called it a day, having not cracked it as a commercial band. The story does not end there of course. Sometimes you can't succeed on the world's terms, so you do it on yours. We will be performing again at The ChickenShed in Cockfosters on the 24th of October 2026, more than 40 years on, but less than a mile from that first gig. We would love our friends and supporters, new and old to come and see us one more time.
