About the training
Join the New African Immigrants Commission (NAIC) and Our Helpers to build confidence in recognizing signs of mental health or substance use challenges, responding with compassion, and connecting people to appropriate support. You’ll learn skills for recognizing warning signs, listening without judgment, offering initial support, and understanding referral options. This training is not clinical treatment and does not qualify participants to provide therapy.
Format and included benefits
The in-person, instructor-led training will include materials, breakfast, lunch, and followship. Certification is awarded upon successful completion.
