A musical journey into the land of fairy tales — richly evocative, shimmering, and full of magic.
Humperdinck's music from his opera Hansel & Gretel is a German Christmas tradition, conjuring the dark enchantment of the forest. Tchaikovsky follows with his suite from The Sleeping Beauty: good and evil fairies, Puss in Boots, and the slumbering Princess Aurora. Between the two, Jonathan Biss brings sparkle and elegance to Mozart's joyful Piano Concerto No. 9.
