About this Event
This volunteer opportunity helps restore Santa Cruz Sandhills habitat! Volunteers should expect to walk over uneven terrain and spend extended time bending/crouching. Activities include pulling weeds by hand, using gardening tools, and carrying tarps filled with weeds.
All experiences are welcome and training will be provided. Youth accompanying an adult must be at least 12 years old.
Registration:
Space is limited and registration is required for each participant.
Waiver:
A waiver is required to participate. Please complete at the link sent after registration, or arrive 15 minutes early to complete the day-of. A waiver is only required once.
Check-in:
Check in near the property sign at the entrance gate, located at the end of the Zayante Fire Department's parking lot.
Parking:
There are a few parking spots available within the parking lot. Additional parking is available along the road.
What to bring:
· Weather appropriate clothes (sun and/or rain protection)
· Closed-toed hiking shoes
· Reusable bottle filled with water
· Gardening gloves
· Anything else you need to work outdoors
Event Cancellation:
If extreme weather is anticipated, we will send an email no later than 4:30 PM the day before the event.
