Presented by Olive Mae WilliamsComing all the way from South West Western Australia, Olive Mae is one of the most exciting and original new voices in Australian country music. Returning to the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2027 for her third appearance, she celebrates a major career milestone with her first headline festival show.
Olive Mae has built a reputation for writing songs that are honest, relatable and distinctly Australian. Drawing inspiration from her rural upbringing, family life and the landscapes of regional Australia, her music captures the moments, memories and people that shape who we are. Family is at the heart of everything she does, and that connection runs through her songwriting, giving her songs a warmth and authenticity that audiences immediately connect with.
A natural storyteller, Olive Mae has a rare ability to turn everyday experiences into songs that feel personal yet universal. Her lyrics paint vivid pictures of country life, relationships, community, resilience and belonging, while her memorable melodies and engaging performances bring those stories to life on stage.
What sets Olive Mae apart is her commitment to writing music that stays true to her own voice. Rather than following trends, she creates songs that reflect her experiences and perspective, resulting in a sound that is unmistakably her own. Blending contemporary country influences with classic storytelling, her music carries a genuine Australian character and perspective that is becoming increasingly rare and highly valued within the genre.
Her talent has earned praise from some of the most respected names in Australian country music, including 22-time Golden Guitar winner Sara Storer, who says: "When I hear Olive Mae sing I am under her spell. Olive Mae doesn't follow trends, she writes and sings songs that are uniquely hers. Her melodies are infectious, her lyrics are brilliantly original, and every song carries a sweet Aussie lilt. Most importantly, you always know it's Olive Mae…and in this crowded industry, that's pure gold."
Since making her Tamworth debut, Olive Mae has continued to grow as both a songwriter and performer, winning over audiences with her heartfelt songs, authentic storytelling and strong connection with listeners. Her return as a headline artist reflects the growing recognition of her talent and her place among the next generation of Australian country music artists.
This special headline performance will showcase the songs and stories that have defined her journey so far, delivered with the warmth, authenticity and storytelling ability that have become her trademarks. Proudly representing South West Western Australia, Olive Mae brings a fresh yet deeply Australian voice to the national stage.
