About this Event
Kyiv-born artist Olena Morozova presents four books from her practice — photobooks and artist diaries that use photography, collage and drawing as instruments for holding what cannot otherwise be held.
«Granny» (2023) — a record of her grandmother's struggle with dementia, tracing the relationship between memory, fear and the intimacy of care.
«I Knew She Would Never Have Children» (2024) — a work about the body, inheritance and the stories women carry about each other.
«My Mum Dreamed of Seeing the Ocean» (2025) — a daughter's testimony. A dream that existed before the war, and what happened to it.
«Independence Days. Diary» (2026) — an artist's diary kept during wartime. Days counted. Days survived.
Together these four books form an archive of private life lived under enormous pressure , documents of loss, continuity and the persistence of love inside history. Olena will speak about the books, the making of them, and what it means to practice art as a form of witnessing.
