About this Event
Not every day do you get to see an internationally heralded producer, label owner, and DJ in an intimate space on a Thursday in St. Pete, but this is the chance! A long time in the making, this event stemmed from a conversation during one of the last two visits made to Tampa Bay, expressing an interest in the area's underground warehouse culture versus the club excursions. We promised to make it happen and now, finally, we're here.
The UK house craftsman shaping soundscapes with soul and subtlety as a producer, DJ, remixer, label boss, and taste-maker. Jamie Odell wears many hats and wears them well, inadvertently becoming a standard-bearer and custodian of the authentic house sound, across the four corners of the world. He’s the artist who’s mastered the art of organic warmth, blending digital precision with analog textures in ways that sound both timeless and ahead of their time. His music often draws from a deep well of influences: jazz, funk, soul, electro and even ambient textures—but it’s always tethered to the dancefloor. His esteemed labels Freerange and Delusions Of Grandeur continue to help break incredible new music and equally impressive acts.
Releasing since the early '90s, Jimpster's output is prolific. His seminal debut LP ‘Messages From The Hub’ brought critical acclaim and invites for collaborations and remixes for artists as diverse as Coldcut, Kirk Degiorgio, Lamb, Kerri Chandler, Airto Moreira, and Bob Marley. The music has flowed steadily and consistently since then. His remix of Osunlade’s Momma’s Groove has become iconic, and let’s not forget the timeless "Dangly Panther."
With Jimpster still doing the business at globally renowned hotspots like Output (New York), Womb (Tokyo), and Watergate (Berlin), a slew of new music on the way, the ideas flowing freely from his studio and with over two decades of experience to draw on we see clearly that the fire is still burning as brightly as ever.
As he puts it himself, “The mission is clear: to try to inject warmth, depth, soul, sincerity and attitude to both my productions and my DJ sets. This is what sets the major players apart from the pretenders. That challenge is what keeps me focused and inspired 25 years on and I’m sure it will keep me on my toes for many years to come.”
