Off the Script: Improv for ActorsSome of the best acting happens when the script disappears. In Off the Script, actors step into the room with nothing but their instincts, their scene partners, and a willingness to play. Through guided improv exercises, you'll learn to build fully realized characters on the spot, finding their voice, physicality, wants, and quirks in the moment rather than on the page. From there, we'll put those characters to work, creating scenes from scratch by listening closely, making bold choices, and building on every offer your partner gives you. Along the way, you'll discover how improv sharpens the skills every actor needs: presence, spontaneity, emotional honesty, and the confidence to trust yourself when things don't go as planned.
Objective: By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to create believable characters and build engaging, collaborative scenes without a script, and carry those improv skills into auditions, rehearsals, and scripted performances.
This workshop welcomes all skill levels, from first-timers to seasoned performers, and is open to ages 16 and up. Come curious, come ready to play, and leave with new tools for making every moment on stage feel alive.
