Conversation Starter: Strong Towns + Zoning Code Refresh
The Richmond Zoning Code Refresh is a years-long rewrite of the city's Zoning Code to help it align more closely with the Richmond 300 Master Plan.
The city has entered the final stages of the process. On the one hand, we agree with the assessment of our coalition partner, Homes for All Our Neighbors, that Code Refresh falls short in many places. On the other hand, HFAON is, and we are, still advocating for the passage of Code Refresh because we believe that it will bring much-needed change to the City of Richmond's housing and land use policies, althought that change may not be to the degree necessary for our mission to be fulfilled.
With that said, let's get together, discuss the changes and advocate for Strong Towns principles in Richmond's Code Refresh.
