About this Event
This is a discussion group for women who are interested in or practicing ethical non-monogamy (ENM). We welcome practitioners of all forms of ethical non-monogamy including polyamory, swingers, open relationships, and more. You can be a veteran of ENM or someone who is simply considering it and still unsure. You can be on this journey coupled, with many partners, or single. You will find women from all walks of lives and stages of life.
This event is intended for women (husbands and boyfriends should stay home). We welcome ALL women, including trans women. This group is in a private home so it’s a safe, women centric, cozy, and private environment to discuss the intersection of being a woman in today’s society and practicing ENM.
Examples of the kind of discussion topics we tackle include:
- Do you feel women practicing non-monogamy face a different set of judgments than men?
- What led you to practice or consider ENM and how has your practice evolved over time?
- Do you practice various forms of ENM? Example: poly and swinging, and how do you find those worlds differ? Do you find their attitudes towards women differ?
- If you have male partners, do they have different experiences when they are open about being ENM?
The event is hosted in Baltimore in the Canton/Brewer’s Hill area. Parking is plentiful and easy. We focus on socializing first with drinks and snacks (please bring a drink or snack to share). Then we dig into a lightly facilitated discussion topic. You are free to participate and share as you are comfortable. No one will dominate the discussion, but no one will be pressured to share or participate in any specific way. If you prefer, you can simply listen or share as much as you are comfortable.
Because (for reasons unknown) a significant volume of men sign up for this event, and because this event is in my personal home, a brief vetting process is required for first time attendees. I’ll email or text you with a few questions. You are also free to ask me questions during this process and I am happy to explain more about the general vibe of the group, what to expect, and learn more about how to set you at ease if needed. I am also happy to have a quick call and chat through anything you need to know to feel safe and welcome.
If you are a not a woman, but still looking for community, reach out to me for additional resources and recommendations. I will try to help.
