About this Event
From the melodies of songbirds to the flash of wings in the treetops, this guided bird walk offers a chance to connect with nature, learn from experienced birders, and experience the quiet beauty of a diverse woodland ecosystem. Bring your binoculars and curiosity—feathered surprises await around every bend.
The group will meet the walk leaders, Julie Bonnema and Sarah Janiga, to learn more about and explore this wonderful nature preserve. Total time about 2-3 hours.
This event is free to Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society members and open to the public for a of the $5. Registration is required as capacity is limited. Click on tickets to register through Eventbrite.

Becoming a Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society member helps promote birding through education, conservation, and scientific research for the betterment of Northwest Indiana natural habitats. If you are a National Audubon member (donor), then you are considered a chapter member of the Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society, if you live in our service area (Lake, Porter, Newton, and Jasper Counties). Our chapter receives a small percentage of the money for your membership (donation) to National Audubon. You can also become a chapter member at the local level on the Dunes-Calumet Audubon Society website.
Established in 1981, the Shirley Heinze Land Trust is dedicated to preserving and restoring significant natural areas across northwestern Indiana. To date, the organization has permanently protected approximately 3,400 acres spanning Lake, Porter, LaPorte, St. Joseph, Marshall, and Starke counties. The Land Trust manages a variety of preserves that encompass diverse ecosystems, including dune-and-swale, oak savanna, woodlands, prairies, and wetlands. Learn more at https://heinzetrust.org.
