North meets South Two-Man Art Exhibit with Michael Olivarri and Karl Lubbering!Date: October 2-4

MICHAEL WALLY OLIVARRI-
(Harlem, New York) Artist, Illustrator and Painter Michael, a San Antonio native, has resided in New York for the last 27 years calling it home and inspired by the colorful heritage that is apparent in his striking, evocative creations. Today his art is not only representative of his cultural background, but also in imaginary scopes.
Olivarri will be showing his organic, whimsical and cultural works on canvas, paper, fabric, wood, porcelain and glass, as well as prints. This is the 4th annual showing of Olivarri Art at Jojodancerphotos at the Upstairs Studios at Bluestar Arts Complex!
KARL JAMES LUBBERING-
(San Antonio, TX) Artist known as “KLube” in the local arts community, pays homage to his late father Louis Lubbering ("Mr. Lube"), by signing his name this way. He is represented by Period Modern in Olmos Park. His style, a unique blend of various artistic influences, is best described as “San Antonio Modern Folk Art.” When discussing his paintings, he often references the vibrant colors characteristic of his birth city. KLube is a talented artist and a skilled musician, having performed locally since the 1980s, all the while developing his original art.
Lubbering (Klube) will be showing one large unique new piece of art and will have prints and t-shirts depicting his beloved and sought out folk art for sale.
Sat 10/4- Closing reception with Live music performance by Karl Lubbering at 6pm in the Upstairs Studios lobby.
