About this Event
Headwaters at Incarnate Word, founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, is excited to announce – Autumn at the Brackenridge Villa - October 2 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the historic Brackenridge Villa and Student Engagement Center Ballroom. The fundraiser will bring together our friends, benefactors, and community members to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Headwaters ministry and the 5th anniversary of the Headwaters Sanctuary conservation easement on a 53-acre natural area located in the heart of San Antonio.
Since 2005, the Headwater mission has been to protect and restore the Sanctuary’s native habitat, promote biodiversity, and raise awareness of the importance of land stewardship. This unique and beautiful green space has become a treasured destination for many in our area, offering opportunities for meaningful connection to the natural world through our walking trails, large pollinator garden, native grass prairie, and environmental education programs. Most importantly, the Sanctuary protects the land that shelters the origins of the San Antonio River – the Blue Hole - which has shaped San Antonio since its founding.
Our guests will enjoy an engaging and entertaining evening of cocktails, appetizers, and a selection of silent auction items, as well as opportunities for a guided tour of the beautiful home that was once the residence of Col. George W. Brackenridge. The evening’s honorees have made significant contributions to our mission: Nelson Wolff, Kronkosky Charitable Foundation, Michael Goldstein, Green Spaces Alliance of South Texas, and Howard Homan.
We look forward to seeing you on October 2nd.
