Join us for a special evening under the stars at the Waikīkī Aquarium, beginning with an OceanTalk featuring Pelika Andrade, followed by an outdoor screening of Ocean with David Attenborough.
Pelika Andrade is the founder and executive director of Nā Maka Onaona, a Hawaiʻi-based non-profit, Extension Agent for the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant College Program.
During her presentation, Andrade will share tools for strengthening relationships and Indigenous literacy to deepen our understanding of ourselves, our communities and the natural world. The discussion will explore how these perspectives can help guide the decisions and contributions we make to support thriving people and places.
Following the OceanTalk, settle in for an outdoor screening of Ocean with David Attenborough. The film takes audiences beneath the surface to explore the planet’s ocean habitats, the challenges they face and the possibilities for marine life to recover.
The film also features Papahānaumokuākea National Marine Sanctuary, connecting this global story of ocean discovery and conservation to Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.
