Students will participate in creating a picture using hand-torn colored paper in the Japanese art tradition called chigir-e. Tearing the washi paper creates a delicate feather like texture. This class is beginner-friendly, though patience and careful finger work are helpful. $15 per person.The picture completed during class time will be photographed and put into a slideshow for display in the Ellen Eccles Theatre lobby on October 1 during the performances of OCEAN in Concert.
