O Brother is a snowy run around Brothers Creek, with a loop from Cleveland Dam to Lost Lake. Snow is likely, but we expect that snowshoes will remain optional.This event is shorter than typical Club Fatass events, but winter conditions will slow you down significantly. Middle-of-the-pack runners may need close to 3h for the 15km distance.
Please load the GPX track in your phone, or print the map and bring a compass. You'll never be very far from civilization, but these trails are quiet, and the snow will turn any mishap into a very cold time getting back to safety. Please come prepared.
The 13km (715m elevation gain) route is the one nearly everyone runs each year. In nearly all snow conditions, the trails are in decent enough conditions, even without snowshoes (but you might still sink down to your nether regions!).
The 15km (800m elevation gain) route adds a loop to Blue Gentian Lake. While it is not much longer on paper than the 13km route, the added section is typically a lot more challenging if there is a lot of snow. One year, in places, we had to lie down on the snow and "swim" our way accross the deepest sections of unpacked snow... Great fun though!
