About this Event
Two universities. Two musical cultures. One stage.
NUS Wind Symphony welcomes Kasetsart University Winds from Thailand for an evening of musical exchange and collaboration, bringing together young musicians from Singapore and Thailand.
The concert celebrates the wind band traditions and musical voices of both countries, featuring works by Singaporean and Thai composers alongside international wind repertoire. NUS Wind Symphony will present works including Benjamin Yeo’s Redhill, while Kasetsart Winds will showcase Thai compositions including Singapore premiere of Tarin Supprakorn’s Soi Son Tad Variations, Jinnawat Mansap’s ASEAN Rhapsody, the wind band arrangment of Yellow River Concert and more.
The evening culminates with more than 130 musicians from both universities sharing the stage as one combined wind orchestra, performing Hands Across the Sea by John Philip Sousa and Don Gillis’ playful Variations on a Kitchen Sink.
More than a concert, this collaboration continues NUS’ spirit of learning beyond the campus stage, creating opportunities for students to exchange musical ideas, discover one another’s cultures, and build friendships through making music together.
