דער ערשטער סעזאָן – פֿיר אָװנטן אין פֿרילינג 2025 – איז געװען אַ געשמאַקער מיש־מאַש. אַרײַנגערעכנט׃ אַ חסידישן דרעג־מלך, אַ פּאָדקאַסט־פּרעמיערע אין פֿינצטערן זאַל, פֿרישע מעכלים לױט אַלטע רעצעפּטן, קינסטלער־רעפֿעראַטן, אַ שפּאָגל נײַע קאַפּעליע, אַ ייִדיש־רעדנדיקן קינדער־גאָרטן, אַ ראָמאַניאָטישער פּיעסע, אַן אַנאָנימען מאַניפֿעסט, „טעסעלירנדיקע“ ים־פֿערדלעך און אַ צניותדיקער געטין. ליטעראַטור, מוזיק, טעאַטער, בילדניקע קונסט און נאָך און נאָך.

“Nu?” What happened to Berlin’s open mic cabaret of Yiddish in all art forms?
The first four-show season in spring 2025 was all over the place: from a Hassidic drag king to a podcast listening session, from taste tests to artist talks, from a freshly formed band to a Yiddish-speaking kindergarten, from a Romaniote play to an anonymous manifesto, from tessellating seahorses to a “tradwife goddess.” Literature, music, theatre, visual art, and much more.
Nu, it’s back.
Join us in the back room of Oblomov on 8 October for an eclectic lineup presenting and enriching contemporary Yiddish culture, moderated in Yiddish by Jake Schneider, hosted by Shtetl Berlin, and performed by Berlin’s Yiddish arts and culture scene and our friends. Arrive at 7pm for soundcheck if you’re performing, 7:30 for a good seat, or 8:00 to stand in the back.
We welcome an audience of both Yiddish-speakers and the Yiddish-curious. Season 2’s multilingual acts are BYOT: bring your own translation.
