NOTE: The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting class is recognized by the Illinois State Police as an approved substitute for 8-hrs. of the 16-hr. Illinois Concealed Carry License.

This is an Instructor-led 8-hour class designed to familiarize attendees with handgun operations and safety. Major areas of focus include key components and actions, proper loading and handling, marksmanship and proper aiming technique, major differences in ammunition, cleaning and storage, an overview of different types of shooting sports, and much more. Students are exposed to an array of handguns and equipment. The course is approx. 7-hrs of classroom discussion, plus 1-hr. of hands-on marksmanship qualification at a local gun range.
Additional one-on-one assistance is available if personalized instruction is desired. Strict firearms safety protocols will be observed at all times. Personal handguns and/or ammunition are NOT allowed in the classroom.
