2nd annual! Tacos and Tomorrow: The logistics and administration after a loved one dies. We have expanded to TWO EVENINGS, same event. This seminar will provide the details, decisions, and administration that you will be encountering in the days following the death of a loved one. This is not about what you should do, but rather what you will have to do in the days, weeks and months following your loss. Unfortunately, this knowledge is often learned for the first time in the worst time. We hope to empower you and help you be prepared.
This event is for all ages because loss affects everyone. Join us to hear real stories, listen to practical advice and gain resources.
Presentation will include
- The personal journey of a younger widower, and what he had to deal with logistically in the aftermath of losing his wife.
- Sun Life will explain the steps to take as the executor, and for the beneficiary of the life insurance, and investments. Providing clarity on what happens during the claim process, as well as providing information on the importance of life insurance.
- a specialist will be discussing the role of the Executor
- knowledge and experience from the banking sector, on what your financial centre will need, the accounts you will have to open, and the administration details you will be dealing with
- Stringam Law will share about wills, power of attorney, executors, probate and why this is important. How they are used. And what happens if you don't have one
- McPherson Funeral Services will explain the decisions you will be making immediately, and the arrangements and logistics you will need to discuss with them.
- Columbia Valley Community Foundation will share opportunities for legacy giving and supporting our community.
Although death is a time of sorrow, we choose to celebrate the Day of the Dead for this event, including a Mexican meal provided by Chef Nick Freiheit.
