From Research to Reality: Lessons from the Overdose Response Network
Craig Madho, project manager at OpenLab, will share key learnings from a real-world study of the Overdose Response Network (ORN), a mobile app designed to connect people who use opioids with nearby peers who can respond in the event of an overdose. Drawing on experiences from participants and community partners, the presentation will explore insights into the app’s usability, acceptability, and practical challenges of implementing a peer-based overdose response system. The talk will also highlight how these learnings are informing the next iteration of ORN and an expansion towards a suite of different potential harm-reduction tools.
