This presentation is especially tailored to Visual Art League of Lewisville members who plan to participate in our 2027 art exhibitions. Learn the best practices for preparing gallery-ready artwork and discover how proper presentation can make a difference.
Topics Covered:
• Framing
• Finishing
• Wiring for both traditional and non-traditional media
• Techniques for hanging quilts
• Examples of proper and improper presentation
You work hard creating your artwork. Now it’s time to learn how to prepare it for exhibition!
Proper preparation not only helps ensure a smoother submission and installation process, but also demonstrates attention to detail that judges and prospective buyers appreciate.
The techniques you'll learn extend beyond VAL exhibitions. They can also benefit you when participating in other exhibitions, art fairs and gallery shows.
New VAL members are especially encouraged to attend! Seasoned members and non-members will also benefit from the information shared.
Meeting Details:
• Visual Art League of Lewisville Members may bring artwork for the Artist of the Month. Previous First Place Winners during 2026 may only win once a calendar year.
• The Art Talk and Meeting event is free and open to the public.
• This is the last Art Talk and Member Meeting of the Year. We will announce details about a party in December.
