📅 Thursday, November 19 at 5:30 PM📍 Waste Pro Truck Museum: 3705 St. Johns Pkwy, Sanford, FL 32771 (located at Waste Pro's Central Florida Regional Headquarters)
Join us for our next general meeting at one of Sanford’s most unexpected historic treasures, the Waste Pro Truck Museum. Our members will gather in the meeting room inside the warehouse for the business portion of the evening, followed by a special guided tour led by museum curator and director Scott Collier.
The museum is housed in the old American LaFrance factory buildings in Sanford, and it tells the story of the Jennings family and the refuse industry through more than 50 restored trucks and displays. What began in 2010 with just three restored trucks has grown into a collection that spans the main Sanford location and two satellite museums, with a New Orleans location opening soon. The museum became a 501(c)(3) in 2025, and it recently received its first international truck, a Japanese garbage truck that goes on display this year.
About our host
Scott Collier is Museum Curator and Director of the Waste Pro Historical Foundation. He joined Waste Pro in 2009 in Corporate Fleet, setting up fleet maintenance software and diagnostic laptops, and took over the museum as it began taking shape. With a background in IT and a lifetime of restoring classic cars alongside his dad and grandfather, Scott sourced the early collection through Craigslist, eBay, and word of mouth. Today he is also one of the foundation’s directors, and he has welcomed visitors from around the world.
Whether you love vintage vehicles, industrial history, or a good behind-the-scenes look at a local landmark, this is one meeting you won’t want to miss.
Bring a friend, and come ready to explore!
🍽️ Join us for dinner afterward at Ford’s Garage! A portion of the proceeds benefits our organization.
