Across Wichita, people are building more, better and different ways to educate kids – often without a playbook, working from instinct and conviction rather than from a manual. The Education Exchange is a monthly gathering for those reshaping the future of K-12 education, built on one conviction: Education gets better when the people doing the hardest parts of it stop working alone and start talking to each other.
Each session brings the community into one room for a structured evening of shared learning, honest discussion and connection – a recurring space to exchange ideas, resources and support with people doing the same hard work in different spaces. The evening consists of a presentation, a socratic discussion and a social hour.
November Exchange Topic: The Right to Quit
The Provocation: What does the right to quit mean, and when is it right to walk away?
What if quitting isn't the opposite of perseverance? This month, we'll explore the idea that knowing when to walk away is an essential life skill—and one we don't always teach well. Together, we'll consider what children can learn from having the freedom to quit, how our culture shapes our ideas about persistence, and when letting go can be the more courageous choice.
This FREE event is presented in Partnership with Learning Lab Wichita and Lily Lake Kansas. Please RSVP.
