November Bookclub: Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Hey book lovers!
Join us in person this November for a cozy meetup focused on Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.
You can buy this book at and mention the book club for 10% off.
Piranesi lives in the House. It’s a maze of endless marble halls lined with thousands of statues. The tides of an ocean flood the lower floors and clouds drift through the upper ones. He knows the halls well, keeps careful journals, and believes the world holds only two living people: himself and the Other. He meets the Other twice a week to help with research into a secret knowledge.
Then the journals start to contradict what he remembers, and there are signs that someone else is in the House.
It’s a short, odd, quietly gripping book about solitude, memory and wonder. It won the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2021. You can read it in a weekend, and there’s a lot to talk about afterwards.
You don't need to have finished the book. Bring your opinions, your favourite passage, or just your curiosity.
Tickets: €10, which you get back in full. On the night, use your ticket as €10 off a book or a drink in the shop. So the evening is free, and the only thing you pay is Eventbrite's small booking fee.
Cancellation is free up to 7 days before the event.
