Join us at Leica Store Manchester on the 7th November, for our monthly series of Saturday Morning Photowalks, which take place on the first Saturday of every month.
For our November walk we focussing on street scenes and how the role of light and shadow can play on the atmosphere and ambience of an image.
Please come along with any camera that you have - any compact or SLR camera, digital or film, all are welcome regardless of your camera brand!
We will be looking at how differences in exposure settings can alter the mood and ambience of a scene, focussing on traditional street scenes as we walk from the city centre south towards the city outskirts. The route will include time to explore around St.Peter's Square and Bridgewater Hall, before crossing over the Rochdale Canal towards the derelict Hotspur Press and India Rubberworks Mill buildings, where once again time will be given to let you explore and photograph the scenes found along our route.
Good composition, choice of aperture and shutter speed will be essential for your photographs to capture the mood and activities of the day. Your photographs should convey the context of the streets that we will find ourselves exploring, whether that be your own interpretation of the remnants of a previous industrial landscape or the sharp shapes, edges and reflections found on the more recent, modern archetectural designs.
Our return route will take us back towards the city centre via Oxford Road, before returning to our Leica Store.
No matter what camera system you use - whether film or digital, all are welcome to join us on our walk - no Leica is required.
However, a camera equipped with a standard zoom (24-70mm) or a wider prime lens (28/35mm) may be useful in order to capture street scenes and the industrial landscapes of this area.
All ages and abilities are welcome but please do dress according to the Manchester weather and please be aware that we will be walking a good distance from our store.

Please do not arrive early!
