Overview:
Over the years, Commonwealth Savers programs have continued to evolve and broaden their reach to meet the changing needs of those planning for future expenses. This session will explore the most recent legislative updates and regulatory developments affecting 529 education savings accounts and ABLE disability savings accounts, with a clear overview of how these updates influence planning strategies. Attendees will learn how new rules impact contributions, distributions, rollovers, and coordination with other planning vehicles.
In addition, the session will include a brief update on Virginia1s state-facilitated retirement savings program, RetirePath. We will review program enhancements, implementation progress, and what employers and employees need to know as the initiative expands.
Participants will gain practical insights to help them better guide families, individuals with disabilities, and small business stakeholders in making informed decisions about these savings tools.
