NOT QUITE THE PLAN
The lives we planned. The lives that happened. What comes next.
Most of us had some idea of where life was going and, perhaps more importantly, who we thought we would be by now.
Then life happened.
Sometimes the plan fell apart. Sometimes we changed before it did. Sometimes life brought storms, upheavals and losses we never saw coming, while at other times it surprised us with people, opportunities and possibilities we could never have planned for. Sometimes nothing is obviously wrong at all, yet we find ourselves looking around and wondering how we arrived here, why the original plan didn't quite work, or whether we even want what we once thought we did.
Not Quite the Plan is an evening for people somewhere in that stage of life.
It is a chance to meet others in the right here and right now, without needing to make sense of the past or know what’s ahead.
It's a space to speak openly about the plans and structures that didn't hold, the emotions and collateral that can accompany major change, and the deeper shifts that occur when, at a fundamental level, we realise we may no longer be who we thought we would become.
No panel. No life coaching. No trying to wrap complicated experiences up into tidy takeaways. Just an open room for honest conversation and deeper connection between people whose lives are still being lived, reconsidered and occasionally rerouted in real time.
It's also a chance to take a breather from all of that.
For one evening, put down the rebuilding, fixing, processing and figuring out. Meet people exactly where they are, have conversations that go beyond the usual introductions - laugh about the absurd parts, vent about the challenges, and enjoy being around people who don't require you to have a polished answer to the question of what comes next.
Whether life is currently confusing you, challenging you, uprooting you, surprising you or simply taking you somewhere you hadn't expected, you are welcome in the room.
About the Hosts
Elinor Moshe, Spiroula J and Marie O’Looney come together from different lives and experiences, but each has undergone major structural and soul-level transitions that have changed the course of who they are and where they thought they were going.
Across identity losses, profound changes, complete reroutings and unexpected beginnings, all three have found themselves in their own versions of the messy middle: rebuilding some things, reflecting on others, reconsidering what still belongs, and discovering what it means to meet life as it is rather than as it was supposed to be.
They aren't hosting this evening because they have the answers. They're hosting it because they're in it too.
Important Information
Please arrive between 5:30pm and 6:00pm, giving you time to settle in, grab a drink and meet a few people before the evening gets underway.
Grazing platters will be served, with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to purchase at bar prices throughout the evening.
There'll also be some guided networking with a twist... designed to get you meeting new people, sparking better conversations and making connections that go beyond the usual introductions.
