Sink your fangs into this Halloween with Arpeggione. Experience the 1922 silent film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror with a live performance of the original score for theater orchestra. Arpeggione will be performing on historical instruments from the early 20th century, including harmonium, flute, clarinet, and strings.
From the eerily corpse-like appearance of Max Schreck as Orlok to the oft parodied staircase camera shot at the film’s climax, Nosferatu set the standard for the modern horror film as well as the genre of vampire films. As the earliest adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula for film, Nosferatu is the source of several of the most enduring aspects of modern day vampire lore.
