👀 WHAT'S THE OLDEST THING IN YOUR CLOSET YOU HAVEN'T WORN IN TWO YEARS?Be honest. We'll go first: there's a blazer in this operation that last saw daylight in 2019 and has been "coming back" ever since.
Whatever yours is — if it's clean and wearable, November 14 is its day out.
Tell us in the comments. We're genuinely curious, and misery enjoys company.

⏰ 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 Northbrook United Methodist Church
1190 Western Ave, Northbrook, IL 60062
WHAT WE'RE SHORT ON
👕 Toddler clothing — size 4+
🧒 Kids clothing — sizes 6–12
👖 Teen clothing — some wear one hoodie until it's translucent, others swap the whole wardrobe every season. (The second kind is where the good stuff live...probably in on the floor in the corner.)
🧥 Warm jackets + coats — winter has opinions about this
👔 Women's professional clothing
👟 Shoes
💍 Jewelry
🧦 NEW socks
🩲 NEW underwear + bras
Other clean, gently used, wearable clothing is very welcome.
THE ONE RULE
Before it goes in the bag, ask yourself: would I hand this directly to my neighbor?
If you'd hesitate, we'd hesitate too. Clean, wearable, ready for someone today — not after a wash, a repair, or a small miracle.
So please leave at home anything stained, ripped, dirty, threadbare, or worn past wearing. Also furniture, toys, books, and — for health and safety reasons — used baby bottles, pacifiers, bottle nipples, nursing supplies, or baby accessories. Those can't be passed along safely no matter how much we'd like them to be.
None of this is fussiness. Every item that can't be used costs a volunteer part of their Saturday and eventually becomes someone else's thing to throw away.
WHY WE BOTHER
Because "donate it" and "deal with it responsibly" aren't the same thing, and most of us were never told the difference.
Donation is one route. There's also reuse, repair, recycling, and responsible disposal — and nearly all of them already exist near you. They're just scattered across villages, nonprofits, resale shops, and programs nobody mentions.
We're building the map. This drive is one stop on it.
