Summer has come and gone and our Club is excited to get back to 'bringing out the best in youth, community and ourselves' as our New Optimist International Year begins! Hear about our 15th Anniversary and Community Celebration recognizing our 15 years of Optimism in Vernon and area as well as the busy summer we had monitoring the Unplug and PLaY Boxes in 9 local parks and 4 successful Pop-up Neighbourhood Park Days held at Heritage Park, Alexis Park, South Vernon Park and Hanson Park in Cherryville. Unplugged activities included art projects, lawn games, button making, tiny 'Optimistic' boat building, bubble chasing with Bubble Wonders, fun giveaways and treats for all! Consider joining us on Monday, October 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm to socialize, meet fellow Optimists and learn about upcoming projects. New Members are always WELCOME! We are happy to be meeting in Downtown Vernon at #102 - 3126 31 Avenue, home of the Okanagan Learning Foundation whose mission is to support Okanagan students and educators by creating the conditions they need for success.
