Headliner- Mario Hodge
Oakland native Mario Hodge is a high-energy stand-up comedian, actor, and writer known for his animated delivery, sharp material, and larger-than-life stage presence. Born and raised in Oakland, California, Mario developed his love for comedy while watching classic television shows and legendary comedians with his siblings. Inspired by the excitement of live performance and sketch comedy, he stepped onto the stand-up stage in 2012—and hasn’t looked back since.
Mario quickly established himself as one of the Bay Area’s rising comedic voices. His unique storytelling style, fearless honesty, and expressive performances have made him a crowd favorite in comedy clubs and theaters across the country. In 2016, he wrote and co-produced the one-hour comedy special “I Can’t with You,” which became the #1-selling comedy special in California that year.
His talent has earned him opportunities to share the stage with some of comedy’s biggest names, including Jo Koy, Martin Lawrence, Earthquake, Deon Cole, Mike Epps, Nate Jackson, Charlie Murphy, Sinbad, Tommy Davidson, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Luenell and Faizon Love. His versatility extends beyond stand-up through acting, original characters, and viral social media content that continues to attract a growing online fanbase.
In 2026, Mario captured national attention by winning the Bay Area Black Comedy Competition in Oakland, a respected showcase that highlights rising comedic talent and connects performers with entertainment-industry professionals. That same year, he was personally selected by comedy superstars Martin Lawrence and Jo Koy to be featured in their project, “Pass the Mic.”
Mario also expanded his acting career in 2026 by starring as the lead character, “OG Li,” in “Same Shit Different Day,” the Bay Area’s #1 live stage play. He also stars in “The Hodges,” one of the top sitcoms currently streaming on Tubi.
Mario was additionally featured on BET’s “ComicView: Rooftop Series,” where his performance clip received more than 1.6 million views within just a few weeks—further demonstrating his ability to connect with audiences both onstage and online.
