English below
Kurátorské spekulum — Autor M. NAI — Co název Gong Mystery in Native Industry znamená? …
Zvuk nepatří včerejšku ani zítřku; obnažuje přítomnost a dává průchod řecko-latinskému Mysterium v anglickém — MYSTERY —; tajemnému mystériu, které nelze analyticky rozebírat, nýbrž pouze prožít celou bytostí. Cesta k tomuto tajemství vede skrze anglické — IN NATIVE —, což znamená návrat k tomu, co je v člověku prapůvodní, vrozené a dosud nezasažené nánosy mechanické civilizace.
— Gongisté NOE–KOHL — Miroslav Noe a Petr Kohl komponují hudbu vždy v reálném čase, proto nevytvářejí definitivní skladby.
… A proč je anglické — EVENING — na obálce? …
Curatorial Speculum — Author M. NAI — What does the title Gong Mystery in Native Industry mean? …
… In the beginning, there is — GONG —; in the Tibetan tradition, it represents a shockwave of sacred metal that does not shatter silence, but opens up space. The seismic movement of sound in real time activates hidden layers of the elements from which the world is woven. The sound belongs neither to yesterday nor tomorrow; it strips bare the present and opens the way for the Greco-Latin Mysterium in the English — MYSTERY —; a sacred mystery that cannot be analytically dissected, but only experienced with one’s entire being. The path to this secret leads through the English — IN NATIVE —, meaning a return to what is primordial, innate and yet untouched by the layers of mechanical civilization in human beings. We encounter our own wild and pure nature. This entire movement is driven by the word — INDUSTRY —, which in this context refers to its Latin root Industria, an unyielding inner fire, an effort leading to the ritual discipline of the mind, and a fervent creative force that gives shape to things. / This multilingual and multicultural code comes alive in the mandala of absolute creative dialogue between the participants of the mystery.
— Gong players NOE–KOHL — Miroslav Noe & Petr Kohl always compose music in real time, which is why they do not create definitive compositions. Their domain consists of impulses in intuitive ritual music that springs from mental silence, with a sense of proportion for emotional energy in anticipation of the drama of uncertainty. Through the resonance of massive gongs,
sound becomes their physical presence, functioning as an ever-shifting architecture of space.
— Photographer KEVIN V. TON — does not react to this sound vibration from a distance, but becomes an integral part of it.
He abandons monochromatic austerity and chooses elementary color photography instead. Color in his presentation is not an aesthetic decoration, but a direct materialization of the elements. The glowing crimson of fire in ice, the density of pure earth in a rock, the depth in the surface of the quiet reflection of water, and the elusiveness of the omnipresent movement of wind imprint themselves into the image with the uncompromising intensity of piercing clarity.
The result is a pure synesthetic experience where boundaries between individual senses dissolve.
One is given the opportunity to see sound in its full color and to hear color in its inner vibration.
Gong Mystery in Native Industry is a ritual purification from the dust of everyday life.
It is a transformation of perception and a radical return to the primordial fire of our innate creativity.… And why is the English — EVENING — on the cover? … It transports the live recording through time; from the twilight at Zbořeňák into the blackness of the vinyl, in whose sound the local birdsong occasionally breaks through.
