Glasba in ples sta v flamenku neločljivo povezana. Eden brez drugega ne moreta zares zaživeti. Prav v tem prostoru med zvokom in gibom nastaja srečanje treh izrazitih umetniških glasov, ki vsak na svoj način raziskujejo, kako skozi telo in zvok nenehno iskati načine, kako tradicijo prestaviti v sedanjost, ne da bi izgubila svojo moč.
Po projektih Al toque, posvečenem flamenko kitari, ter Al baile, posvečenem plesu, se priznani kontrabasist, skladatelj in producent Pablo Martín Caminero v projektu Al cante obrača k petju. V središče postavlja sodelovanje z Davidom Carpiem, enim najprepoznavnejših glasov sodobnega Jereza, ki s svojo interpretacijo nosi bogastvo in izrazno moč flamenka v njegovi najbolj neposredni obliki.
𝗣𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶́𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼 je umetnik izjemne širine in eden najprodornejših glasbenikov svoje generacije. Po študiju klasičnega kontrabasa na Dunaju je svojo ustvarjalno pot nadaljeval v Madridu, kjer je vzpostavil izjemno razvejano umetniško prakso. Sodeloval je z ustvarjalci, kot so Jorge Pardo, Gerardo Núñez, Dhafer Youssef, Chano Domínguez, Niño Josele, Rocío Molina, Ana Morales in številnimi drugimi predstavniki jazza, flamenka, stare glasbe, plesa in gledališča. Njegov opus obsega avtorske albume, glasbo za film, baletne produkcije in mednarodne koncertne projekte, v katerih vztrajno preizprašuje meje med žanri. V projektu Al cante se zato srečata dva navidez različna pola: svoboda sodobne glasbene ustvarjalnosti in globina flamenko tradicije.
Posebej za cikel Noches de Tablao nastaja sodelovanje z 𝗨𝗿𝘀̌𝗸𝗼 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮, plesalko, koreografinjo in performerko, katere avtorski opus že vrsto let nastaja na presečišču flamenka, sodobnega plesa, performansa in glasbenega raziskovanja. Namesto reprodukcije ustaljenih plesnih oblik jo zanima telo kot prostor ustvarjalnega tveganja, poslušanja in transformacije. V njenem odrskem jeziku se tehnična natančnost flamenka srečuje z odprtostjo improvizacije in sodobne koreografske misli. Njen ples postaja prostor srečevanja različnih časovnosti, izkušenj in pomenov, v katerem tradicija ni spomin na nekaj minulega, temveč ustvarjalna sila sedanjega trenutka.
Srečanje treh izrazitih umetniških osebnosti tako odpira prostor, v katerem se jerezansko petje, jazzovska ustvarjalnost in sodobni ples ne postavljajo drug ob drugega, temveč soustvarjajo skupno umetniško izkušnjo odrskega dogodka. Al cante × Urška Centa odpira vprašanja preobrazbe, prenosa in ustvarjalne prenove. Kar izhaja iz starega, se ne ponavlja, temveč se na novo izumlja. V času, ki pogosto zahteva hitrost in všečnost, projekt odpira prostor za srečanje z živim umetniškim organizmom, sposobnim sobivanja.

Cikel 𝗡𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗼 predstavlja umetnost na področju sodobnega flamenka. Oblikujejo ga interdisciplinarni umetniški dogodki, osnovani predvsem na živi povezavi glasbe in plesa, ter spremljevalni program izobraževalnih in teoretskih vsebin. Program gradi medkulturni lok med tujimi in domačimi ustvarjalci, ki vzpostavljajo dialog med umetniško prakso flamenka in drugimi glasbenimi žanri in predstavljajo nove ustvarjalne pristope h glasbeni, plesni in performativni umetnosti. Od svojega nastanka leta 2017 daje prostor najnovejšim umetniškim projektom, ki temeljijo na žanrski presečnosti in ponuja širok spekter sodobnih izraznih form. V njem se nizajo koncerti in plesne uprizoritve, v katerih tradicija vstopa v navdušujoča zavezništva z novitetami.

Music and dance are inseparable in flamenco. Neither can truly exist without the other. It is precisely within the space between sound and movement that three distinctive artistic voices come together, each exploring in their own way how the body and music can continually reinvent tradition for the present without diminishing its expressive power.
Following his acclaimed projects Al toque, dedicated to the flamenco guitar, and Al baile, centred on dance, renowned double bassist, composer, and producer Pablo Martín Caminero now turns his attention to the voice with Al cante. At its heart is his collaboration with David Carpio, one of the most compelling voices to emerge from contemporary Jerez, whose singing embodies the richness, emotional depth, and expressive intensity of flamenco in its most direct form.
𝗣𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶́𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼 is an artist of remarkable breadth and one of the most innovative musicians of his generation. After studying classical double bass in Vienna, he established his creative practice in Madrid, developing an artistic career that transcends stylistic boundaries. He has collaborated with leading figures including Jorge Pardo, Gerardo Núñez, Dhafer Youssef, Chano Domínguez, Niño Josele, Rocío Molina, Ana Morales, and many others across jazz, flamenco, early music, dance, and theatre. His body of work spans original albums, film scores, ballet productions, and international concert projects, consistently challenging the boundaries between musical traditions and contemporary creation. In Al cante, these seemingly contrasting worlds converge: the freedom of contemporary musical language meets the profound heritage of flamenco singing.
Created especially for the Noches de Tablao series, this performance marks a new collaboration with 𝗨𝗿𝘀̌𝗸𝗮 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮, dancer, choreographer, singer, and performance artist whose work has long evolved at the intersection of flamenco, contemporary dance, performance, and musical experimentation. Rather than reproducing established dance vocabularies, Centa approaches the body as a site of artistic risk, deep listening, and transformation. Within her choreographic language, the technical precision and rhythmic sophistication of flamenco encounter the openness of improvisation and contemporary choreographic thought. Her movement becomes a meeting place of multiple temporalities, experiences, and meanings, where tradition is not preserved as a relic of the past but activated as a living, creative force in the present.
The encounter between these three distinctive artistic voices creates a shared performative space in which the singing of Jerez, contemporary musical invention, and dance are not presented as parallel disciplines but as interdependent forces shaping a single artistic experience. Al cante × Urška Centa explores questions of transformation, transmission, and creative renewal. What emerges from tradition is not repeated but continually reimagined. At a time that often rewards speed and instant gratification, the project invites audiences into a slower encounter with a living artistic organism—one that listens, responds, and thrives through coexistence.

𝗡𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗼 is a contemporary flamenco cycle dedicated to exploring this art form through interdisciplinary performance. Centred on the live interplay of music and dance, it also encompasses an accompanying programme of educational and theoretical events. The cycle builds intercultural bridges between international and local artists, fostering dialogue between flamenco practice and other musical genres, and presenting new creative approaches to music, dance, and performance. Since its inception in 2017, Noches de tablao has provided a stage for the most current projects that transcend genre boundaries and showcase a broad spectrum of contemporary forms of expression. Its programme unfolds through concerts and dance performances where tradition enters into inspiring alliances with innovation.
