Join this intimate and community oriented event. Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year, the longest night, and the official start of winter. After this day, the light slowly begins to return making this a natural symbol of hope, renewal, and fresh beginnings!
Start/Finish: At the Skagit River Park (1011 E Section Street) Concessions/Playground
Distance- 2M (approachable for most ages and fitness levels)
-FREE hot chocolate & s'more kits.
-Supplies for intention setting-Reflection cards "what are you leaving behind this year?" & "what do you want to carry forward"
-"Wall of Light" board where you can post hopeful words to be displayed later for the community at large
-Kids Table for decorating lantern bags to take home
-Community fire pit
-Acoustic music
-Ice Blue Glow Sticks for all participants (flashlights/headlamps encouraged)
-Lighted lanterns along the route
-No bling...just a shared sense of transition through intention setting and looking forward to brighter days ahead!

COURSE: The start/finish line for the race is at the Skagit River Park Concessions & Playground Area at 1011 E Section Street. The course is two miles long and is completely within Skagit River Park and up on the dike (Course will be marked by illuminated lanterns, but headlamps and flashlights are encouraged!)
