We want everyone to know their vote is their voice, and this country only represents them if they vote! Bring voting-themed signs, check out our welcome tables with voting information and voting merchandise, and help us build the biggest blue wave this country has ever seen.
**Event Format**
We are going back to our chapter roots for this No Kings: Vote Early event. Just like we did at the Hands Off protest in April 2025 and so many other protests in early 2025, we will meet at S College and W Main before marching down Main St. Volunteers will be stationed throughout with information about early voting, getting involved in our elections work, and protecting everyone’s vote.
**Event Logistics**
- Parking map available at https://www.indivisiblenewarkde.org/upcoming-activity/no-kings. Please leave closer spots for people who use a wheelchair, a walker, etc.
- The march is around 1.5 miles. Anyone who does not want to march can remain at the protest start location throughout.
- If you want your protest sign read by cars driving by, remember that large bold font and simple phrases are more visible.
- As usual, there will be a team of protest volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly.
- Do not engage with hecklers (which have been very rare thus far). Report hecklers to a Safety Team member (yellow vest) and do not engage with them.
- Help us care for this space—please don’t litter.
**Rationale Behind this Day of Action**
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law.
Now, we are taking the next step, turning people power into voter power. Unlike previous No Kings actions, No Kings: Vote Early, is not a day of massive protest around the country. Instead, on October 17th, we are bringing our community together to make a plan to vote early and to demonstrate that the people have the power.
Because no one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do. On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings.
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
