No Filter welcomes Molly Countermine and Rene Witzke, two musicians who have been part of the State College music scene for decades. Molly’s unmistakable voice has been heard with Ted & Molly, Pure Cane Sugar, Ted & the Hi-Fi’s and Maxwell Strait, while Rene has been the bass player alongside her in Ted & Molly and Ted & the Hi-Fi’s and a member of Queen Bee and the Blue Hornet band. Today, they perform together in Honey Pie, along with Pine Grove Hall regular, Sam Christensen. For No Filter, we’ll get beyond the bands and the gigs to hear the stories behind all those years of making music together—how they got started, the people and places that shaped them, and what it’s like to share both a life and a stage. An intimate evening of music, conversation, and stories you probably haven’t heard before.
Every third Wednesday of the month, Judson Mantz and Ed Kenepp host NO FILTER, an intimate series that digs into our local music scene through live performances, candid conversation, and the stories behind the music.
