About this Event
In a world where AI can finish a sentence, write an essay, or generate an idea in seconds, the most valuable skill a child can build is the one no machine can replace: original thought. This is a space where students write, brainstorm, and problem solve using only their own minds, no shortcuts, no autocomplete, no algorithm doing the thinking for them.
Students will practice generating ideas from scratch, building stories and arguments through their own reasoning, and strengthening the kind of creative thinking that gets harder to develop the more we outsource it. The goal is not to reject technology, it is to make sure a child's imagination is strong enough to use it as a tool rather than a replacement.
Every student leaves with the start of an original short story, and the motivation to finish it. Those ready to take it further are invited to enter their story in Brain Power's Short Story Contest, giving their creativity a real goal and a real audience.
