The NLBAs celebrate excellence in writing by authors in Canada’s easternmost province and are made possible by the generous support of sponsors like Killick Capital and the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador.
Each award is handed out on a two-year cycle, with eligible books having appeared in the two previous calendar years. This year’s awards are for adult fiction and books for children and youth from 2024 and 2025, and next year’s will be for poetry and non-fiction from 2025 and 2026.
The author of the winning book in each category will receive $1,500. Two runners-up will be selected in each category to receive $500 each.
