Come join us for a 3 day Contact Improv workshop with Nita Little in Boulder, CO. Nita is one of the founders of CI and possibly the last still teaching. Her work, pulling on over 50 years of CI is deep and profound, pushing past technique into how we approach thinking about ourselves and our connection with partners.Workshop description:
Skill underlies creative practice: attentional skills, compositional skills, material skills, perceptual skills, time skills, movement skills and more. In Contact Improvisation this especially includes relational skills with the physics of the earth, with the earth herself and all beings, with the emergence of the dance, and with one another.
We will explore our capacity to move with specificity, detail, recognition of what we and our partners are offering into an artful moment. We will develop the ability to be in the present moment while also tracking the creative path of the composition, the languages of relations that have been engaged, the logic of patterns and the playground of interpersonal agreements that turn CI into a skill-based art.
