About this Event
Across every age and culture, humanity has bowed to the feminine face of the divine, in ancient river goddesses, cave paintings of prehistoric mothers, and in the many names by which the sacred feminine has been called and cherished. Much of the world has since moved away from that reverence. The turbulent times we now find ourselves in invite us to return to that worship, to turn within and invoke the powerful energy of the Divine Feminine once more.
Navratri is a nine-night tradition, rooted in ancient Indian culture, honoring the feminine energy in its many forms. This year, we shall celebrate it across our neighborhood, moving from studio to studio, using the framework of the chakra system.
Each day we will honor a different archetype of feminine strength as we move from the root to the crown. Each studio will bring its own magical offering, beginning with a short reflection and meditation tuned to that day's energy, led by Ramaa Krishnan (fullbloomedlotus.com). Then the hosting studio takes over, offering their own expression of the day's theme, in whatever form feels true to them. We close the arc together on October 20th to celebrate all we've moved through.
About Ramaa Krishnan: Ramaa is the founder of Full Bloomed Lotus Center for Self-Awareness on Chicago's North Shore, where for over 26 years she has drawn from various wisdom traditions to share tools that help people move from fear to faith through life's challenges.
