Gain the skills to create spectacular night photographs in our ever-popular night photography photo walking tour. Bring your tripod and your curiosity and get ready for some fun!
Achieve the skills needed to create spectacular night photographs in this photo walking tour. You'll gain the skills to capture stunning, colorful and dramatic low light and night photographs. Your instructor will guide you along a hands-on walking tour with multiple photo demonstrations. You'll be able to shoot photographs alongside your instructor and get tips and advice on how to improve your images.
We will be capturing images in Alameda on the Navy base with great views Of San Francisco and Oakland's inner harbor. Bring warm clothes as it can get cold on the base.
What You’ll Learn
- How to create light trails and motion effects with the use of long exposures
- Making use of artificial lights to highlight your subject during long exposures
- How to use the bulb mode setting and timed exposure settings to create better images
- Necessary and recommended equipment and accessories
What to Bring:
- Bring your camera that allows manual settings along with a fully charged battery and memory cards.
- A Tripod is required and manual shutter release is highly recommended.
- A flashlight (not flash), spare battery are also recommended.

About Your Instructor: Leah Frink
Leah Frink has worked in the photographic industry as a photographer, salesman, and instructor since 2001. She has published a few books on various topics, including a documentary book on the Rockabilly scene called Revisited, one on her band photography, and one on her black-and-white portrait series called AW. She loves sharing her knowledge and passion for photography with others. She lives in Alameda and enjoys spending extra time with her godchildren, documenting their milestones.
