Creature Classifieds…
What if iconic literary monsters were looking for love? Imagine what it would be like to write a personal ad as a famous fiend. Jasmine Respess (Editor-in-Chief of Islandia Journal and Founder of Penumbra Press) will lead all those brave enough in concocting a classified ad from the perspective of a momentous literary monster. You can be as thoughtful as Dr. Jekyll or as feral as Mr. Hyde. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a match made in hell?
Monster Hunt
If you dare to cross the hallowed threshold of the Corner bar, $8 earns you the chance to seek and find literature's most formidable brutes. Visit a bookish vendor, wax poetic with a local wax worker, or loosen lips with libations at the bar top to reveal the monsters hiding in plain sight. Five in a row, straight up, across, or horizontally puts you in the running for preternatural prizes from Penumbra, Undrbelly, Islandia, Bug Fight Books, Bookleggers, Cicciona, and more.
