About this Event
BCAS is thrilled to welcome Erro Lehnert, founder of the California Condor Recovery Program, who will present “Heartbreak and Hope: A Biologist’s Life with Condors”.
Join Erro Lehnert for a glimpse into her life as a condor biologist, including an overview of condor biology, the captive breeding and reintroduction program, radio and GPS tracking, and wild nesting and fledgling success, along with the heartbreak that comes with the work. The largest flying bird in North America still faces many challenges, but thanks to dedicated biologists, geneticists, and conservationists, there is reason for hope.
The public is welcome to this ticketed event. The $12 registration fee benefits BCAS.
As an added bonus, our regular social time will be extended to an hour to include an art exhibit by Christina Baal. Christina has designed artwork for Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival, The Biggest Week in American Birding, the New River Birding and Nature Festival, and New Jersey Audubon’s World Series of Birding. She will be offering a curated selection of her work for sale, with proceeds benefiting BCAS.
