Inside the Grant Process: A Conversation with Niagara Community Foundation
JoAnne Krick, Director of Grants and Community Initiatives at the Niagara Community Foundation, will offer a funder’s perspective on what makes a strong grant application and share insights that can help Niagara’s fundraising and nonprofit professionals approach upcoming funding opportunities with greater clarity and confidence.
The conversation will include:
- Upcoming grant opportunities, including the David S. Howes Fund and other funding opportunities opening soon
- How applications are reviewed and scored, and what applicants should understand about the assessment process
- Common missteps NCF sees in grant applications and how organizations can avoid them
- Stewardship that stands out, including approaches JoAnne has appreciated from organizations at the Foundation level
- Practical insights to help organizations strengthen their relationships with funders before, during and after the grant process

Whether you regularly write grants or are looking to better understand how funders assess applications, this session is an opportunity to gain practical insight directly from a local funder while connecting with colleagues across Niagara’s charitable and nonprofit sector.
PLEASE NOTE: The Niagara Falls Library does not open until 9am. We will gather out front, and proceed to Conference Room 1 together.
