Join the Newport News NAACP for our 2026 Annual Freedom Fund Gala, an afternoon of fellowship, celebration, and support for the work ahead. Honoring Our Legacy. Advancing Our Future. This year’s theme invites us to reflect on those who helped shape the fight for civil rights and consider how we can carry that work forward in Newport News. We look forward to gathering with members, neighbors, and community partners for this special occasion. Our keynote speaker is Pastor Tremayne Johnson of Zion Baptist Church. Matthew Fultz, Daybreak Anchor at 13News Now, will serve as Master of Ceremonies, with music by DJ D-Robb (Derrick Robbins).

FREEDOM FUND GALA
Info: Matthew Fultz, Daybreak Anchor at 13NEWS NOW (WVEC), will serve as our Master of Ceremonies and gracefully guide us through the program. We will pay tribute to the life and legacy of one of our past NAACP presidents Reverend Jerry Cornelius Fauntleroy and recognize a special community honoree.. We will also be honored to have our keynote speaker Pastor Tremayne Johnson of Zion Baptist Church, who will definitely bring inspiration to the room!
