Tonight, we are certainly in for a real treat when two engaging and charismatic performers join together to present some of their favourite Jazz Classics.
Pete Maliverni
Pete has been a fixture on the New York scene since the early 1980. He has performed with many iconic American musicians including Clark Terry, Joe Lovano, Mel Lewis, Vernel Fournier and many others. He is Chair of Jazz Studies at Purchase College, having previously held tenures at William Paterson and New York University.
He rarely performs in the UK and it is a great privilege to welcome him to our club.
Hugo Jennings
Pianist, Singer, Conductor, Curator.
Described by Chuck Reid as ‘A very impressive young man’ Hugo oozes talent. He is a heady mix of virtuosity, charm, knowledge, and sincerity. He plays classical and Jazz piano, is the founder of Battersea Jazz Festival, and conducts and arranges for The South London Jazz Orchestra. He has played with many of our own great Jazz musicians, including Tom Smith, Ruben Fox, Hugo Sawyer, Alex Garnett, and Adam Moezina. His enthusiasm for music is infectious, and his joy in performing is palpable.
This will be a very special evening.
We hope that you can join us!
