From prairie to pampas: join Dvořák, Cage, Ginastera & Still on a music journey through the Americas. Classical heritage meets innovation.About this Event
Now in its 26th year, the Oxford Chamber Music Festival returns with New Worlds. "From the Prairie to the Pampas" traces four routes through the Americas:
Antonín Dvořák — Indian Lament;
John Cage (1912–1992) — Living Room Music
Alberto Ginastera (1916–1983) — Tres Danzas Argentinas Op. 2 No. 2;
William Grant Still (1895–1978) — Suite for Violin and Piano.
All in one of the best spaces for chamber music in the UK, a purpose-built concert hall inaugurated in 2024, where world-class players are unusually close up.
