New Wave makeovers with Kutz by Kai
In 1992, a couple guys that yearned for the club days of a decade ago took matters in their own hands. They planned and produced a party called the “I-Beam Reunion Party”, held at that legendary Haight Street venue that was a big part of 1980s club culture. After the success of that night, for the next event, they needed an ongoing name, and came up with New Wave City. 34 years later, New Wave City is still a leading light in San Francisco’s nightlife. This anniversary event, and every monthly party in the future, is in memory of Skip, who was living out his dream of DJ’ing and running an event like this, and sharing it with others.
